christmas 2008

here are our christmas 2008 family photos
when we took these, i was afraid there wouldn't be any good ones because it seemed someone was always blinking and the kids wouldn't stay put and/or look at the camera. but, in the end, i was pleasantly surprised!
i love them!
=)
^ this one is shane's favorite

^ this one is my favorite
^ the boys.
soooo cute! =) i love it!
^ the boys on santa's lap.
it was hard to pick which picture to get. there were lots where trevin is smiling, but teagan was crying. and then there's this one where trevin looks sorta bored and teagan's not quite crying, but looks very concerned. =)

^ this is a cute one of trevin.
he loved santa!
after we were done taking the pictures, he kept hanging around santa, talking to him and playing with him. sitting on his lap.

we got these taken at a local consignment shop that my friend owns so it wasn't like at the mall where you're kicked off santa's lap after a set amount of time. there wasn't anyone else there, so we just hung out with santa for a while. he even helped me carry teagan out to the car when we left. who else can say that santa helped them to their car? =)

i didn't even try to get any pictures with just teagan and santa.
maybe next year he won't be so scary. =)

at the beach in october!

october 5, 2008
emerald isle, nc
our first family beach trip. =)

other than a short trip with the clarke's (my older sister's family) in july, where he didn't even get out of his carseat, this was teagan's first trip to the beach!

trevin and i always collect shells at the beach. this time, his favorite was a little white clam shell with a hole in the top.

i wanted to make a sand castle, but it took about 10 mins just to convince trevin to come join me. he didn't like the water and i guess my castle was too close to the water for his comfort... although it was a good 20 feet away. =)

teagan's first time "in" the water!
the water was pretty cold, so none of us actually went in. which was good since a fisherman about 15 yards away caught a baby shark while we were there!

trevin took about 40 mins to venture off the towel, but eventually he decided he liked the sand ok.

trevin in his shades on the pier. i forget the name of it, but there's a big, long pier that goes pretty far out over the water and is pretty high as well. there were tons of people fishing off of it. it was really neat! you could look down into the water and see lots of jellyfish!... yet another reason i'm glad we didn't go swimming! =)

Sesame Street Live!

while we were in north carolina, sesame street live happened to be doing some free shows on base for military families. i wasn't sure if trevin would be scared of all the giant characters, but he LOVED it! =)

here are all the characters... and i believe
that's elmo's bodyguard in the bottom
right with his arms crossed.
he looks pretty tough. =P

this is trevin "shooting" me with his elmo
twirly toy. i have no clue where he got the
idea to use it as a gun. *sigh*
and i'm not sure who shane's giving
the creepy smile to.

shane's having more fun than trevin in this pic. =)

this was while we were waiting for the show to start.

this one was taken afterwards.
you can tell that trevin is really excited.
his cheeks are red from all his dancing around. =)

teagan was easily entertained with his own twirly elmo toy.

it made him drunk with happiness. =)

NC Trip September 2008

in late september - early october, shane's friend went out of town and let us stay at his house in north carolina. shane had already moved down there, so it was a chance to have the family together again and for us to see the new base where we'd soon be moving.
these are just some pics from that trip.

this is trevin having some cereal for breakfast. i rolled up his sleeves and he insisted i rolled up his pants too. silly guy! =)

trevin's first time driving a car. and it's pink. =)

teagan's first time in the grass.

trevin has seen grass before. =)
although ours isn't so lush and green, so
this was his first time in real grass.

teagan learning to stand.
he was barely 7 months old
on this trip, but he was all over the house,
pulling up on everything!
