^ trevin is a baseball playing, backpack wearing ninja!

^ watch out, he's crazy!

^ teagan in a drawer. he had so much fun climbing in
and out and laughing, while i was unpacking.
but by the time i took this picture, he'd had enough
and was getting a bit upset. =)

^ trevin wearing some of his favorite things;

i finally took the time to pull some pictures off of shane's camera, so here's a few from november.
shane had already moved down to north carolina and the boys and i were in virginia still. one weekend shane came up for a visit and we went to a really nice, big park i'd found. too bad i didn't find it until right before we moved away. =(

^ pushing the boys on the swings.

^ that's trevin climbing into the "rock climbing" mountain.

^ trevin going down the slide.

^ riding the purple dinosaur!

^ and last, shane helping trevin climb the rock wall.

Locks of Love

in feb 2008, i cut off 10" of my hair and donated in to locks of love. locks of love is an organization that uses donated hair and money to make real hair wigs for children who've lost their hair from cancer treatments.
fast forward to feb 2009 and all that hair had grown back! so i chopped it off again and sent it off in the mail. =)

^i didn't take a "before" pic, so this is me holding it up to show just how long my hair was.

^and here is my slightly scary pic of me holding it up. i look like an elephant! =)

^ta da! this is the best pic to see my new, shorter hair, although i didn't take one with my hair "done" and any make up on. just these. but i'm sure you'll see it in later pics. =)

Snow Day!

A week or so after moving in, we woke up to snow on the ground!
I believe it was the day of Obama's inauguration, because i think i remember something about it on the radio, but I quickly turned that off and focused on the snow coming down! It hadn't snowed here in NC for 4 or 5 years, so I was skeptical when the weather forcast had snow in it. But they were right! When I saw it coming down, I knew what I had to do; Go to the beach! =)

It was naptime, but being this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, I packed up the boys and headed to Onslow Beach here on base. Teagan fell asleep in the car, so he missed it. I couldn't wake him just to drag him out in the cold. So, he slept in the car while Trevin and I headed to the beach. As you can see below, Trevin wasn't sure what to think of it.

It was soooo cold at the beach with the wind blowing in off the ocean. So I quickly got to making my mini sand/snowman. I couldn't feel my hands and there wasn't much snow, as it was all blowing away, so it was a small, malformed, unfinished snowman, but I think he's cute! =)

Here, Trevin is taking in the view.
There was a guy surfing out in the water, so we spent some time watching him.

We didn't stay long, but it was fun!
Here's a sandy seashell on the snowy sea shore- say that 10 times fast! =)

Movin' On Out

Here are some pictures (finally!) from our move.
This one is Trevin eating his dinner on the counter in the kitchen. With the highchairs and table packed up and gone, I thought sitting him up there would help contain the mess, so he wasn't running around the empty house while eating. He thought it was so much fun to eat on the counter! =)
(mmmm... chicken strips!)

The next day, as I packed up what was left in the house, Teagan took it upon himself to be sure he wasn't forgotten; he "packed" himself in my suitcase.

Whiskey, apparently also worried he'd be left behind, got in Teagan's carseat and waited by the door.

While Teagan and Whiskey were "packing", Trevin was suspiciously quiet in what used to be Teagan's room. I went in to find a thick, sweet smelling cloud in the air and this...

An empty house can be boring, so Trevin had found some baby powder to play with.

What a mess!
Of course, after cleaning it all up, the room did smell "powder fresh!" =)

And one last picture before heading out the door. Here, Teagan is in his carseat (not Whiskey), ready to go! And you can see Trevin's face peeking out over the top of the carseat. He was talking to Teagan, keeping him entertained, while I rounded up the dogs to put in their travel kennels.

Then it was a few trips to the car and back to get everyone in there and away we went!
