teagan's 3rd birthday!

for once i'm adding pictures just days after an event, rather than several months! =P teagan turned 3 on feb. 28th, but we waited a couple weeks for the party. and, last saturday, he finally got his big STAR WARS party!!! =D

^ after a lot of deliberatioin, teagan decided on a star wars theme. =)



^ "happy birthday you must have!"

^ these are from his actual birthday. he was sick, so i made sugar cookies for him instead of a cake. although, i'm not so sure they're any better for you. but i think they're easier on the stomach. =P

^ the night before the bday party, i burned my hand taking the cake out and dropped 1 of the 3 cake rounds. =( big bummer.

^ the 2 surviving layers and the "dead" one. it was going to be a checkerboard cake, but instead, it was looking like it'd be vertical stripes, since the "green, blue, green" layer for the center got destroyed. BUT... the 2 on the left here ended up being stuck to the pan anyways. ice cream cake to the rescue!!! =D

^ party day! i think we exceeded the weight limit on the play set that day. there were up to 10 kids on it at a time. =)

^ the birthday boy! he was running in circles in the backyard. don't ask why... we don't know. =)

^ pinata time! holding it with a crutch worked so well at trevin's party last year, it made a second appearance. this time, with shane holding it up! =)

^ candy flying everywhere! for how much these kids complain when asked to clean up their toys, they cleaned up that candy EXTREMELY fast! it was everywhere! and then it was gone!

^ the cake, take 2! thanks to DQ, i got a plain cake and all i had to do was decorate it. =)

^ opening them turned into a group activity. i couldn't keep track of what was from who as everyone dug into everything!

every day life

these are from november 2010 - february 2011.

^ some artwork by the boys 12/20/10 they used face paint, so it came off easily, thank God.

^ i babysat for 2 of my neighbors on dec. 29, 2010. my neighbor lacey has 3 boys and my neighbor justina has 2 kids, so add that to my 3 boys and you have: 8 kids in my house! 7 boys ages 8, 6, 5, 4, 2 3 yr olds, and trayson at 7 months. and little mia is 3 as well. =) what fun we had! ;-P you can see the 7 older ones in this pic. trayson was likely hiding in a safe spot. =)

^ trayson and whiskey were browsing my victoria's secret catalog the other day. silly boys. at least those are bathing suits and not lingerie. =P

^ my newly found craft is called amigurumi. which is japanese for "little knit animal" or, in this case, crocheted. blankets can take so long, but these little guys are cute and fast! i've made a zebra too, but no pics yet of that... perhaps i'll remember to add it soon.

woops! i skipped halloween!

perhaps someday i'll get organized and keep these posts in order. until then, here's another holiday... 4 months later. =P

snow day! jan. 10, 2010

the snow that fell the day after christmas was pretty weak. we didn't even go play in it, because it just turned to mushy mud when you walked on it and i didn't want to deal with cold, wet, muddy kids. lucky for the boys, it snowed jan. 10th too!
